The calm after the storm...

We had quite a storm blow through here the other day.  Tornado sirens were wailing in Sidney, and we weather spotters (members of the Shelby County Emergency Services) were keeping an eye on a storm that popped up and blew through here in less than 20 minutes.

Winds and rain pelted us and the two silver maples in our front yard were almost bent over to the ground for a couple of seconds. I thought they might snap.

But then, it was gone ... just like that.  And later that evening, it was absolutely beautiful.  On my way home from a VFW meeting, I captured these shots in one of the recently harvested wheat fields just down the road a ways.  I thought it looked pretty nice.

Enjoy.

It really pay to have a camera with you or be close enough to home to get one quickly enough to get a shot before the light is lost.

Catching the beauty of nature wherever it's found is the harvest of a quiet eye.
